Seven e-scooters seized in Hatfield amid national crackdown

Seven e-scooters have been seized by police in Hatfield amid a crackdown nationwide.

Officer from Beds, Cambs and Herts Road Policing Unit have been participating in Operation Topaz this month to support the national e-scooter campaign.

Officers were shocked to see that one vehicle could reach speeds of 28mph.

An X post by @roadpoliceBCH read: “OP TOPAZ has been running this month to support the national E-scooter campaign.

“Seven seized and all riders reported for no licence and no insurance.”

“One of these was able to reach 28mph!” The post added.

“All worthy of a scrap yard.”
