DVSA:

We’re changing our customer service centre opening hours

From 2 February, our phone lines will be open between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We’re making this change as we receive a relatively small number of calls outside of these times.

For many customers, there will be no change. Over 98% of the calls we receive are between 8am and 5pm and the same number of contact centre colleagues will be working during the new hours.

The change is designed to provide a better service for our customers.

Whatsapp

You can now choose to contact our customer service centre using WhatsApp messages.

We’ve been trialling this service for a few months and found it works well for those who choose to use it. In the trial, we found it to be an efficient way for you to contact us.

We have chosen not to allow driving test swaps to take place over WhatsApp.

To use it, put the number +44 (0)1908 787001 into WhatsApp. It will only work with messages and will not work with calls.

You can message us at any time, even if the customer service centre is closed. We will reply when we are open.

You can still choose to contact DVSA in other ways:

No matter what method you use to contact DVSA, we always use strict security checks to help protect against fraud.

This means customers will need 2 of the following to contact DVSA about driving tests:

  • a driving licence number

  • a theory test pass certificate number

  • a driving test booking reference
